The People’s Living Lab aims to demonstrate projects that draw on expertise from around the world, utilizing an array of cutting-edge technologies to solve critical social issues that are being faced by humankind.

Expo Highlights and Their Significance

Experiencing “Life”—the key Expo theme

The Expo showcases projects and initiatives toward “a Future Society for Our Lives” created by leading experts from various countries and fields. These can provide students with the opportunity to learn things beyond the scope of their regular school life.

Brilliance of Life Project

In this project, eight leading Japanese producers will discuss and delve deep into the meaning of “Brilliance of Life,” leaving their findings for the future. In addition to exhibits at the Signature Pavilion, Signature Events are slated to be held in both in-person and virtual venues.

Learning about Efforts Toward the Achievement of SDGs

The Official Participants’ Pavilion and the private sector pavilions depict a world in which the SDGs have been achieved. These exhibits also demonstrate the efforts undertaken to reach these goals, providing visitors with an opportunity to think and act proactively toward the future.

Thirteen leading Japanese companies and organizations will present creative exhibits and performances in line with the theme of the Expo. These are designed to impress and evoke empathy in visitors as they experience the society of the future.

A Look into Japanese and International Cultures

The 2025 Expo is expected to brim with cultural diversity, exchange of values, connections, and innovations thanks to the participation of 161 countries and regions, as well as 9 international organizations.* It will serve as a space where visitors can not only deepen their understanding about the international community but also discover the charms of Japan.

International Pavilions

Three zones corresponding to the sub-themes will be set up throughout the venue, with official participating pavilions from around the world. These venues will showcase exhibits related to the sub-themes as well as efforts to achieve the SDGs. The entire venue is slated to depict a vision of a future society in which the SDGs have been achieved.
